This. The Buick Enclave. A full-sized crossover built on the GM Lambda platform, this follows the Buick Rendezvous, Rainier, and Terraza consolidating them all into one package. I consider this to be by far the most attractive of the Lambda family which includes the Enclave, GMC Acadia, and Chevrolet Traverse.
The Enclave, as well as having the most badass name ever given to a crossover, Has fairly good styling. A ridiculously large exhuberant chrome grille bestows the front, logically-shaped headlights with the blue ring Buick likes to put in their headlights for... reasons, and some nice flares on the fenders that give it a somewhat muscular posture despite the overall eggy shape.
Being a crossover, it drives and handles much like a car. The V6 gets it to highway speeds in perfectly adequate time, and it provides a quiet smooth ride.
The interior is very nice, with a dark brown and wood theme that looks luxurious, with smatterings of typical GM textured plastic, especially on the lower door card. However most of this plastic is in places you wouldn’t be touching normally, and is below your usual field of view anyways. Everything you normally would see, touch, or sit your booty in is very well done in this interior.
Interior room is nice, slightly smaller than what you’d find in a Tahoe, which makes sense because on the outside this car feels like a slightly shrunken Tahoe, which gives me the slightly feeling that GM might soon cease production of the body-on-frame Tahoe for civilian use, replacing it with something like the Equinox and relegating the Tahoe to fleet and police needs. But that’s purely conjecture for now.
Overall I really like this. It’s big enough to make sense as a crossover form factor (whereas stuff like the Trax is just silly), and the unibody/FWD/V6 makes it far more economical and smoother riding than a Tahoe or Yukon.
I want to see it lowered.
Oh. There we go. That looks dope as hell.

Fun fact: it shares a steering wheel with the GMT900 pickups.
That’s OK though, I like that wheel.

My brother has had an enclave for years and its been faultless for him. I like the looks too, the only bummer is buying tires for it.

The Enclave was far and away the best of the Lambdas until the Acadia was facelifted, and now it's a close second.

The Tahoe isn’t going anywhere. GM makes ridiculously huge margin on it and the Suburban, selling to the “I must have a body-on-frame SUV for towing my (real or hypothetical) boat” people, and the “I want a real body-on-frame truck platform, because that’s the only real truck platform” people.

These things are by far the most common vehicle in my town (besides the Camry, I suppose). Every other vehicle in traffic, it seems, is an Acadia/Traverse/Enclave.

Why do people keep putting dish wheels on modern cars? It almost always looks terrible.

My folks had to drive one from Denver to Nashville, towing a small U-Haul and they loved it. My MIL drives the GMC version and I like that too. I like them all except for the Chevy one. That one looks like they forgot to design the rear.

I’ve spent some time in rental Enclaves. They are very nice - if I had to have a 3-row vehicle they would be near the top of my list. I’ve actually ridden in the 3rd row and it feels like there is actually more room there than a Tahoe, but maybe it is just the lower floor playing tricks on me.

GM needs to not with the horrid teal interior lighting.

Agreed. Teal is an awful color for instruments and buttons and shit.
